Based in Raglan and supporting women and whānau throughout Hamilton and the wider Waikato region

ABOUT
a full spectrum doula devoted to walking alongside women and their whānau throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. My work is rooted in gentle presence, deep listening, and honouring the innate wisdom of you, your body, and your baby.
I believe birth and motherhood are deeply transformative experiences, deserving of care that is nurturing, informed, and centred around your unique journey. Whether you are preparing to welcome your baby, navigating postpartum, or seeking space to reconnect with yourself, I offer grounded and intuitive support that helps you feel seen, held, and empowered. I offer support in all birth spaces - whether that be in hospital, birth centre, or at home.
Through emotional, practical, and holistic care, I aim to create a space where you can soften into your experience with confidence and trust. I also hold space for women moving through pregnancy loss, termination, and seasons of grief — offering compassionate, non-judgemental support through experiences that can feel tender, complex, and deeply personal. My intention is to ensure every woman feels witnessed, supported, and held, wherever she may be on her journey.

These can also be tailored to ritually support teenagers or women during specific transitional times such as beginning of menstruation, or menopause.

TESTIMONIALS
Kiri, Whāingaroa Raglan
"Working with Maria in pregnancy and postpartum was the essential support I didn’t know I needed. Her presence of unconditional support and loving presence are felt on every level. I had a very challenging pregnancy and having a beacon of non-judgment and unwavering care was invaluable in an incredibly challenging (and transformative) chapter.
Postpartum is an incredibly vulnerable and intimate chapter of life. Maria shows up in this space in utmost sensitivity and with a sixth sense of what is needed -while simultaneously continually communicating with what is needed by the mama + wider whanau.
Her nurturing gentle nature was the softest place to turn to in the most tender moments. I could not recommend her more to anyone seeking support in pregnancy, birth, or postpartum. I can’t imagine having navigated this chapter of life without her support."
Veronika, Whāingaroa Raglan
"We are so grateful for the incredible support Maria provided us during my pregnancy, the birth and postpartum. As we already had a toddler at home and no immediate family support, we did really appreciate her help. She has a very calm and peaceful presence. She has a lot of experience with small children and our first born son was really vibing with her. He was always looking forward to her coming over. That reassured me and put me at ease during the homebirth of our second son.
I am so glad Maria was there and I couldn't wish for a more beautiful and powerful birth. She was very much in tune with our needs and cared for me, our son, helped set up what we needed and cleaned up afterwards. I knew I could always ask what I needed her help with and if I didn't, she just came and started doing what she saw we needed help with. She is a compassionate listener so it was easy for me to share my feelings with her, she always provided that safe space for me. She is very thoughtful and kind hearted, always surprised me with some nourishing goods or offered me that much needed massage. We couldn't have asked for better care and will always be thankful for her being that right person we needed at the time."

"Maria’s postpartum support was huge in our success of thriving with 3 under 5. She came weekly for 4 months. That looked like her making delicious mothers milk tea for the week, folding laundry, dishes, preparing the kids dinner then tucking me in for the most sensational massage as baby lay next to me. She got into all my tender and sore spots and allowed me to truly stop and unwind for the first time that week. Letting me speak to whatever came up.
Often she was the only person to touch me without wanting something from me that week, she poured into me and worshipped me with touch-that is true medicine for a mother. Afterwards I always felt inspired and creative, often going straight to my journal. That evening I would be the fun mum, the relaxed mum. Not in the throes of evening routines because someone had already taken that weight off me, I could just enjoy all my children. Postpartum support looks like you being the mum you actually want to be, I just wish we could have had her every day!"
Baillie, Whāingaroa Raglan
"I just had a massage with Maria, except calling it a massage just doesn’t do it justice.
Maria came into my home and her presence alone made me instantly relax. She is grounded, calm and just carries such a beautiful nature.
We had a chat and she poured some home made cacao. I was able to tell her some hard things I’d been experiencing and she held space, and also my hands while I cried. When we made a plan for my massage she set up, and I relaxed on my couch.
The rose water steam below the table was the most lovely touch. The massage itself took me to the stars and back. I haven’t felt that relaxed in I don’t know how long. The perfect act of self care or the most nurturing gift to someone you love and care about that may need some awhi"
